DUXW Challenge – Day 8

Day 8 of the Daily UX Writing challenge. This was a really fun one for me. Like every other live music fan, I miss going to shows.

The challenge is as follows:

  • Scenario: The user is a casual music fan and (on occasion) goes to live concerts. They have a music player app on their phone.
  • Challenge: Tell the user that one of their favorite bands is playing live in their town. How would you compel them to want to go?
  • Headline: 30 characters max
  • Body: 45 characters max
  • Buttons: 25 characters

My thought process

Pop-ups can annoy users and they might be quick to tap through to get to their destination, which is why I chose this particular hook as well as to emphasize the artist name. The alert reminds the user that this artist isn’t just one of their favorites, but their top pick.

I’ve pushed the user by also including a theoretical percentage sold beneath the BUY TICKETS button. If this were tied to ticket sales data, depending on the percentage, it might drive the user to act fast and buy.
