Day 7 of the Daily UX Writing challenge. Yet again, the scenario feels all too real.
The challenge is as follows:
- Scenario: A sports fan is at a wedding while their favorite team is playing against their arch-rivals. Their team scores.
- Challenge: How would you, quickly, let the sports fan know about the latest play, the current score, and the key players? Write it.
- Headline: 30 characters max
- Body: 45 characters max
My thought process
Missing your favorite team’s match is a bummer. Missing your favorite team’s rival match is worse. But we’re at a wedding in this scenario, not something you can typically easily get out of.
I’ve assumed the user has only a quick second to check for updates, so the message is simple but charged with excitement.
It provides the basic details, but enough to perhaps entice the user to sneak off to the bathroom to check for more information.
