Day 3 of the Daily UX Writing challenge, and it’s deceptively simple.
The challenge is as follows:
- Scenario: The user entered the wrong email address to sign in to their account.
- Challenge: Tell the user to enter the right email.
- 40 characters max
My thought process
I make typos all the time, especially on my phone. This was my first thought when I read this challenge. This message could also pop up if the user isn’t registered for this camera app.
I aimed to make the app seem conversational as if you’ve just given the wrong email to a friend. The app blames itself for the typo or missed registration, not the user. With more characters, I’d include two additional troubleshooting prompts: Forgot username? Forgot password?
